The Niiki app offers a practical approach to learning the Myaamia language, focusing on vocabulary related to everyday home life. It incorporates diverse educational tools such as audio recordings, flash cards, and photographs to facilitate comprehension of common Myaamia terms associated with various rooms in a house, among other topics.
Developed by students from Miami University under the guidance of Dr. Douglas Troy of the College of Engineering and Computing and Kristina Fox from the Myaamia Center's Education and Outreach team, the application reflects an academic and community-driven effort to support language preservation and learning.
Audio contributions are provided by Daryl Baldwin and Jarrid Baldwin, while photographic content is credited to Andrew J. Strack, Karen L. Baldwin, and Jonathan M. Fox.
